Ford TDCi Has More Power!

May 21, 2007

I just came across this and I just had to share it with you guys. It is not always that you come across such a vehicle you know?!?!

Anyway, I was browsing some news site this morning and this advertisement on the new Ford TDCi caught my attention. It’s quite a nice car in my humble opinion. So I clicked around their website a little to see what the car has to offer.

Then, I was reading through the brief description of its power and torque capabilities for the advert was saying that towing a 3 tonne load wouldn’t be a problem. Let’s have a look at this:

fordtdci.jpg

22% more power!

With 141bhp to tap on and 33Nm of torque to use, which is of course the best-in-class, you can drag 3 tonnes of weight without any problems! My Swift, on the other hand, has only 133Nm of torque which is of course the best in the whole world, is capable of carrying 10 tonnes without a problem then!

Of course I know it’s just a typo. Ford, don’t get mad at me if you’re reading this. I am just making a parody out of the typo. Have a sense of humour when reading this aye? ;) The car of course is still a good car, well not that I have test drove it but rather, from the specs and the looks alone.

Well, so much for joking around early in the morning. I am back to work now. See you guys later, peepz! :)

IT Terms to Describe Life 2

May 21, 2007

About 5 months ago, I wrote this:

IT Terms To Describe Life?

I was browsing my archive when I stumbled upon it. That was then, but it’s different now. Now, it would go something like this:

I have just managed to install GirlFriend 1.4 a few months back. I managed to remove the NobodyLovesMe virus by installing the Charming 2.0 software. This time, its algorithm was superb in eliminating the virus.

With GirlFriend 1.4 installed, I needed Cash 2.5 as well. Cash 1.5 was just not sufficient and would break down during heavy loads from the GirlFriend program and then OS itself. Cash 2.5 runs better but would still break down occasionally.

With an upgraded OS and GirlFriend 1.4 installed, CreditCard 5.0 was also needed to assist Cash 2.5 in handling the load from the OS and GirlFriend 1.4. With credit card 5.0, there is a problem. It creates a buffer to assist Cash 2.5 in its duties, but it will eventually overload Cash 2.5 every once a month. I am currently hoping for Cash 3.5 to be released so that I can reduce the dependability on CreditCard 5.0.

As of writing, swiftmod.exe still cannot be installed. It requires a minimum of Cash 4.5 to be installed if I remembered correctly. I am speculating Cash 4.5 will only be available Spring 2009. Car 2.0 is also needed but will need some proper management on Cash 2.5, otherwise, the OS will be screwed. Oh, and Car 2.0 runs perfectly with GirlFriend 1.4, so no worries about that. So right now, I think I need Car 2.0 and Cash 3.5 to run smoothly.

Tagged Again

March 14, 2007

I seem to be a target for tags nowadays. I can’t help it but everytime I do a tag, I’ll make someone look like a fool. Remember the two girls tag? Man, look at the response from the girls, damn shiok I tell you! Previously, it was Wei wei and now it’s baby Alisa. Don’t worry, I’ll give her face and I’ll do the tag.

OK, here goes:

One day, a man was walking in the jungle. As usual, he wanted to chop some wood for his family’s daily use. As he settled and started chopping, he heard a voice of an old woman asking for help. Curious, he set out finding where the voice came from. He finally found the old woman who was trapped under a heavy log.

Old woman: Young man, please help me get out of this. In return for your generosity, I’ll give you 3 matches that will grant you 3 wishes.

Man: Ohh, OK. I’ll help you anyway. Don’t worry about it.

(The man helped the woman out)

Old woman: Thank you young man. Here are your 3 matches. If you want anything, just take a match, raise it up in your hands and say yor wish out loud.

Man: Thanks a lot. i really isn’t necessary.

The old woman left and excited, the man ran back home and told his wife and children about the matches. Upon hearing the news, the man’s family became so excited they started asking for things.

Man’s wife: Lao kung, I want the best kitchen.

Eldest Son: Pa, I want a nice car.

Youngest Son: Pa, I want the best bicycle.

Daughter: Pa, I want Barbie doll.

The man, not knowing what to do came up with a brilliant idea.

Man: OK, keep quiet everyone. I’ll give you all the things you want.

The man then held up a match and loudly said:

Man: Simi lanjiao also want.

The lanjiao from everywhere came falling down from the sky covering his house.

Man: Shit, this is not what I meant. Damn it!

He then took another match

Man: Simi lanjiao also don’t want.

Then all the lanjiao disappeared, including his and his sons’.

Man: KNNCCB!!!

Ashamed and frustrated, he took out the third match and said

Man: Gimme back my lanjiao!!!

His lanjiao then came back but his sons lost theirs.

OK, those who have heard, shheessshhhh… Those who find it lame, please shehhheeeeehhh as well. Thank you.

No more jokes. I can’t think of any more early in the morning.

The Way I Saw The World Yesterday

February 4, 2007

Hmm, as I know it, I am not so much of a picture blogger, but today, I’ll add a little bit of photo spice to it. This post is again a post of no genre and is in chronological order according to what I saw and experienced yesterday. Besides, I have stumbled upon too many blog postings of people camwhoring and then posting photos where they do not belong. So much so, the only reason I read on was to look at the photos and see if there were any interesting items I can spot. At least if the photos were there to compliment the texts, they would have made a very nice post, but no, it’s just there because the author just wanted to show them.

So I thought, it was about high time I got myself geared with photos to compliment my post as well, so this is it. The photos are not so good though, since I am no professional photographer so don’t expect fancy angles and lightings. Some of the photographs are even blur due to night shots. It’s sucha shame but what the heck. LOL.
Anyway, back to today, I woke up unfortunately to work on a Saturday. Yes, I still have to work half a day on a Saturday, officially that is, but off the record, I still work one full day. :) So yes, woke up, got ready and rushed down to the kopitiam to grab myself a quick breakfast.

breakfast.JPG

See, a poor guy like me does not indulge in luxurious breakfasts, so for me, it’s only a taosa pau and a teh peng. What else? Because I can’t afford ba… I seldom take breakfast, if you must know. Foreigners often have this impression that Malaysians love their breakfast but it doesn’t work that way for me. The reason I am taking breakfasts nowadays though is because I fear my gastric will strike again. Yes, I am big in size but I still get gastric OK, I am still human after all. Anyway, the breakfast only lasted a meagre 10 minutes and I was off to the office after that.

theplace.JPG

Nothing distant though, it’s actually just 5 minutes walk from my condo, or less. Looking at the photo above, I just noticed, advertisers have indulged in a new way to advertise their stuffs. The sign posts and the lamp post are being utilized fully for advertising. BRAVO!!!

Basically, the whole morning was work, work, work and work. Pretty hectic for a Saturday morning, I have to say and I won’t bore you with my work details. I have sworn before that I wouldn’t write a typical entry choreographing my day to day life but again, it isn’t the intention of this post to do that. This post was meant to illustrate my thinkings of the day as I went through it.

theplace2.JPG

Come lunch time, I just felt very “pictorial” so I brought my camera along for lunch. I came across this bush, well not exactly bush, where a dog has been hiding for quite sometime with her puppies. As I stood in position ready to take pictures of her and her puppy, I dared not hold my camera up in an abrupt manner fearing that the mother would just come charging at me, thinking I was trying to harm its puppies. I slowly raised my camera, and thanks to the 10X optical zoom, I took a close up shot from a distance.

dog.JPG

Trust me, you don’t wanna mess with a dog especially when it is protecting it’s young. It got me thinking, even animals have motherly instinct. Isn’t god’s creation just wonderful? Well, with the exception that animal instincts aren’t as good as human’s.

puppy.JPG

Lunch came after that and I took a quick one then headed back to office once again. By then, no one was to be seen in the office anymore, except me but I am pretty used to that already so it was alright. Then something struck me and got me thinking, since I have been working day and night for the past week, why not take some time off and go for a movie or something, right?

bush.JPG

The picture right above is where the dog and it’s puppies are hiding, right under the shady leaves. Anyway later in the evening, I headed down to The Curve and I have to say, The Curve is pretty jam packed with people nowadays. It’s gaining popularity by the days. People come here mainly for the food and atmosphere most of the time though. Of course, there is always the flea market every Saturday and Sunday (which is expanding in “network”).

thecurve.JPG

I have to say the management of The Curve is pretty creative though, when it comes to decorating for occasions and seasons. They used a blue theme for Christmas and now the red theme for Chinese New Year. Speaking of which, Chinese New Year is around the corner but I haven’t exactly started feeling the mood yet, probably due to excessive work. :(

thecurve2.JPG

It was pretty crowded since it was a Saturday evening and the flea market was everywhere. This was also the very place Kenny bought his RM500 paintings that his mother denounced as a waste of money. Besides, HSBC was promoting their credit cards and so had set up stages as well as functions for its loyal credit card holders, making the night even more happening.

liondance.JPG

HSBC also hired lion dancers to dance all the way from Ikano, The Curve as well as Cineleisure. The 3 groups of lions eventually met up somewhere in front of Cineleisure’s main entrance. If you noticed the smiling “I don’t know what you call that”, I thought the mask was kinda cute and adorable.

liondance2.JPG

Speaking of which, HSBC talked me into getting another credit card. As if I haven’t enough credit cards already, I took another one. Well, I was just attracted by the discount offers the card has to offer, so I took it. After all, there are no obligations to use it for the first 2 years and I can cancel off the card after 2 years, so I thought, what the heck.

By then, it was almost 8 pm and I was starting to get a little hungry. Quite frankly, I have ran out of places to eat. Mamak doesn’t taste nice to me anymore. I have been taking mamak food ever since the day I set foot on KL. I decided on the yummy, quick KFC since it has been ages since I last took one of those.

kfc.JPG

I made it a fast one as well and headed for Borders Bookshop at The Curve to read some magazines. The interesting thing is that you can actually grab some magazines and just sit down and read them. You end up not buying them but that’s a good thing, innit? Ya la, I know la, I am a cheapskate and you people ain’t.

cnydecor.JPG

After all that, it was only then that I headed over to Cineleisure for my movie. My initial plan was to watch Stranger Than Fiction but because the seating wasn’t good, I finally decided on Blood and Chocolate. It isn’t exactly the most exciting movie to date but still, it’s watchable.

Cineleisure is starting to grow in terms of operation. I have seen it grown from the start where it was just opened for business and the only thing around back then was Cathay Cineplex. Of course, other outlets started moving in slowly. At the time, things didn’t seem promising but looking at how it’s operating now, I am pretty confident it’s gonna do fine. Bravo to the first few who decided on opening an outlet there. That was a good business decision and it got them good spots in the building.

cineleisure.JPG

Now that I remembered one thing, I was trying to take a shot of Cathay Cineplex and a guy came to me and said no photography was allowed without prior consent from the management. I was just thinking, why is it so wrong to take a photo of the cineplex lobby? Was it because you fear me plotting a bomb inplant on the place? Or was it because you feared me talking bad about the place, online or otherwise?

It’s just stupid OK! This “NO PHOTOGRAPHY WITHIN THIS ZONE” thing is just bull crap. I can’t see the logic behind it all. So are you saying, I cannot capture happy moments of me and my loved one at that particular place just for memories? If it’s people’s private home, I can understand why not to take pictures, but hey, no pictures in areas I consider as open (albeit it being a private area) is just absurd. Hey, you opened your office to the public, it’s a cineplex OK!

Enough of that already. What really made my day was this. There is this place near the place I work which teaches dancing. They call it a ballet academy though. Everything is fine but…

nutcracker.JPG

AKADEMI BALET NUTCRACKER is just hillarious. What nuts did they think of cracking? WAHAHAHAHAHAHA… You guys better be careful out there if you have any friends learning ballet. Apparently, they can crack nuts, if the skills this academy is teaching is really true, that is. WAHAHAHAHA… Anyway, that’s the end of my boring Saturday so cheers people.

Spam Bots With No Brains?

January 28, 2007

When you have blogs that are public listed on other sites as well as search engines, it’s only natural that you get a number of spams every now and then. As much as I hate spams, I guess it’s just a part and parcel of life now. You get an email address and somehow, some people just manage to spam you. Even with a physical address, some people just won’t fail to spam you with adverts from ah long, direct sales, etc.

Spammers have gone the extra mile to ensure that their spams look innocently legitimate. One such spam would look something like this:

spam.JPG

The name and also the content of the comment looks perfectly legitimate in isolation. In fact, I felt so honoured by the comment that “he” appreciates indepth views such as mine. Upon further inspections on the post “he” was commenting on, it immediately occured to me that this is some kinda spam. Why? Because the comment was for this post. I quote myself:

“So, barely 4 weeks after I touched down in Kuching, off I go again to KL. This time, it’s gonna be a long one. Naturally, I blog less when I am in KL because I lag an internet connection off office hours and also I barely have the time for it. I’ll try to blog as much as I can and I hope I can. Now, can anyone who is in KL leave me a comment? We can probably meet up or something!”

That post had no indepth views whatsoever. In connection, the comment became absolutely stupid. Spammers, let me teach you a lesson or two. Write spam bots that are smarter and choose your posts with care so that the comment is relevant. No way is such a stupid comment on such a post gonna bypass Akismet. It’s such a shame but thanks for the spam, NOT!!!
