IT Terms to Describe Life 2

About 5 months ago, I wrote this:

IT Terms To Describe Life?

I was browsing my archive when I stumbled upon it. That was then, but it’s different now. Now, it would go something like this:

I have just managed to install GirlFriend 1.4 a few months back. I managed to remove the NobodyLovesMe virus by installing the Charming 2.0 software. This time, its algorithm was superb in eliminating the virus.

With GirlFriend 1.4 installed, I needed Cash 2.5 as well. Cash 1.5 was just not sufficient and would break down during heavy loads from the GirlFriend program and then OS itself. Cash 2.5 runs better but would still break down occasionally.

With an upgraded OS and GirlFriend 1.4 installed, CreditCard 5.0 was also needed to assist Cash 2.5 in handling the load from the OS and GirlFriend 1.4. With credit card 5.0, there is a problem. It creates a buffer to assist Cash 2.5 in its duties, but it will eventually overload Cash 2.5 every once a month. I am currently hoping for Cash 3.5 to be released so that I can reduce the dependability on CreditCard 5.0.

As of writing, swiftmod.exe still cannot be installed. It requires a minimum of Cash 4.5 to be installed if I remembered correctly. I am speculating Cash 4.5 will only be available Spring 2009. Car 2.0 is also needed but will need some proper management on Cash 2.5, otherwise, the OS will be screwed. Oh, and Car 2.0 runs perfectly with GirlFriend 1.4, so no worries about that. So right now, I think I need Car 2.0 and Cash 3.5 to run smoothly.

Super Keyboard?

March 6, 2007

I am stressed, stressed, stressed!!! I need humour, humour, humour!!! OK, so these pictures I am about to show you guys, have been taken quite a while back. Didn’t really come about to post about it. Each time I wanted to post about it, inspiration came, and so I wrote a different post all together.

Anyway, back to what this post is all about, I was walking around a shop sometime ago browsing through the computer section for interesting gadgets which I can drool at and not buy, which really is quite traumatising. I came across this keyboard with illuminated keys. I thought it was kinda cool and I checked the price out thinking to myself, “I’d purchase this if it’s not too expensive.”

I kneeled down, leveled my eyes with the keyboard package and focused on the price tag. I almost fainted when I saw the price. The keyboard was priced at an unbelievable RM2999!!!

For a moment I was dazed, it took me a second or two to recover from it. Refusing to believe there is such an expensive keyboard, since it is just a normal keyboard but with lighting, I browsed through the same keyboard on the shelf.

I glanced at the price tag of another same keyboard. Now, this makes more sense. RM256 is the actual price of the keyboard. Phew!!! What a relieve, but still, it’s out of my budget. :(

IT Terms To Describe Life?

December 23, 2006

I was browsing a forum and I came upon a joke which described real life situations with IT scenarios. Anyway, this is my attempt in it and those with a sense of humour would actually get it:

“I am running single.exe on my machine. Single.exe is a memory resident program that comes preinstalled with the OS which can only be overwritten by GirlFriend1.0.exe. Somehow, I am infected by this virus called NobodyLovesMe. This virus is fatal in the sense that it eliminates all possibilities of having the GirlFriend software installed. Formatting my OS doesn’t do the trick because NobodyLovesMe.exe just returns out of no where. I have also tried installing a file called charming1.0.exe, which is known to look out for and eliminate NobodyLovesMe.exe, but to no avail as the algorithm for version 1 of the Charming program is not efficient in completely removing NobodyLovesMe.exe.

I have also tried installing swiftmod.exe but it wouldn’t install because it said I was missing the file called cash.exe which i can’t seem to find no matter how hard I try. Needless to say, GirlFriend1.0.exe also needed cash.exe to be installed. So, I think my problem now is with cash.exe. I can’t seem to find the file. Can anyone help me find it? “

Spams, Spams and SPAMS

December 5, 2006

Can you even imagine how my comment box would look like without spam control? I mean, since I started this blog from 8 August till now, I have been blocking like 111 illegitimate comments. I know, that’s not a lot if compared to the more popular blogs out there, but hey, it’s a lot for a small blog like this one, alright. That is the consequence of exposing my blog to the public.

Advertisers are now finding any means as a medium of advertisement. I mean, I get advertisements on casinos, drugs, sex, helping children, etc. You name it, I’ve got it. Thank goodness my commenting system has not gone out of hand, else I’d be forced to enforce a strict commenting system.

Anyway, say ‘TAK NAK’ to spams!!! =)

Windows Internet Explorer 7

October 22, 2006

The long awaited upgrade to Internet Explorer is finally out but if you noticed, it is no longer Microsoft Internet Explorer but is now Windows Internet Explorer. Why have they decided to rebrand it is completely beyond me.

Some people have been complaining about the verification of the Microsoft Windows OS prior to installation of Internet Explorer citing that both are completely different products. Yes, from a piracy point of view, it is a very proper thing to do but it really is a hassle. This means users of “you know what” Windows are unable to install the latest version of Internet Explorer. This is really a hassle if you ask me as both the OS and browser are completely seperated products.

Perhaps it is the intention to completely integrate Windows and IE that they have decided to rebrand Microsoft Internet Explorer to Windows Internet Explorer. It is perhaps also due to this that they have decided to perform verification on the OS before installation of IE can proceed. Still, I am under the opinion that this is not really necessary as IE is a free product anyway and this will further add salt to the already injured IE. People will start shifting over to the ever famous Firefox browser.

I am an avid user of Firefox myself and I have to admit IE has improved quite significantly over the years. Security aside (which I have yet to discover), some of the much needed features like tabbed browsing, phishing website identification, etc. have been added. It is quite sufficient to make people return to IE but with the verification, I am starting to doubt it.

Now, there are some people out there who commented on why most are still sticking with Windows and not moving over to Mac or Linux. I have said it many times over but I am going to say it once more. The main reason is with application compatibility as well as hardware support. People using computers solely for working purposes might not face any problems but home users are very likely to face some problems.

Tell me, how many games out there actually support Mac? How many processors out there actually support Mac? As far as I am concerned, most gaming and overclocking enthusiasts still stick around with Windows because it is utilizing the ever famous IBM compatible PC platform. Tell me also, how many applications and systems out there are designed for Mac and Linux for that matter? Of course I know Linux is a more stable platform for networking and security as well as for daily work. Of course I know Mac is not that prone to virus attacks but heck, who are you to say that when most are attempting hacks on Windows to find all flaws and not on the Macs or Linux? It’s like when a person gets famous, you find they have scandals here and there. What makes you think you are any different? The only reason you are not put on the table for scandals is because you are not famous and your life means nothing to the world.

That being said, I am a Linux user as well and I have got to admit that Linux is very much more stable than Windows in many senses but I don’t go about bashing Windows because a fact is a fact. You cannot live without a Windows PC, well at least me. You need it for a lot of games that you play and I still don’t see a lot of tech gadgets out there designed for Mac or Linux overclockers.

So, my point boils down to this. Each and every OS platform has its own goods and bads. Yes, no doubt Linux and Mac is good but Windows has got its own good points as well. If you can prove me otherwise, it would be time most people started switching over to another platform other than Windows. The way I see it, most are still staying with Windows and there has got to be a reason to it, agreed? So, please don’t go about bashing Windows as I have said, there are pros and cons of each OS.

Now, back to IE 7, its a very good product overall and I have yet to discover any bugs with it. Nice interface with overhauled icons, making it more friendly to the eyes. Tabbeb browsing is definitely a welcomed feature. I have been waiting for this since the IE 5 era. Phishing filter, pop up blocker, integrated search(ala Firefox) and add ons all makes IE on par with browsers like Firefox. Lets wait and see how much better does it fare against Firefox and the like.

Anyway, that’s it for now and lets be objective here and not start bashing products which we have not even tried yet. If it really sucks, then I wouldn’t even stop you from bashing the product. I myself would be one of those who would be boycotting it. So lets be objective here alright guys? Cheers.
